Come and learn the various layers of theater, and see what goes into the making of a show from beginning to end. Each of our workshops is led by experienced members of T&C or professionals in the field. They will deliver a curriculum that is designed to educate and cultivate interest in the writing and production of a show. Join us and see what it’s all about!
Workshops this year will explore Producing, Acting, Stage Management, and Playwriting. Snacks will be provided!

Directing Bootcamp
Being a director of a show can be a daunting task! Whether you are a seasoned director or someone who is thinking about giving it a try, we can help! Our experienced instructor, Tim Gallagher, will lead you through exercises from how to prep for a show to how to stage a show and everything in between. This bootcamp is designed for adults with all levels of experience!

Tim Gallagher is the Theatre Arts Coordinator and Drama Club Advisor at Montgomery County Community College. Tim earned an M.A. in Theatre from Oklahoma State University with a concentration in Directing. Professionally, Tim has worked both on and off-stage. Local theatre credits include Delaware Theatre Co., Interact Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Co, Inis Nua, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Delaware Shakespeare Festival and the Bula Rasa Project.

Mariel Rosati is an actor, singer, director and writer with a passion for classic films and Vaudeville. Mariel studied theater and English at Bryn Mawr College and trained in the Walnut Street Theatre's Professional Apprentice Program as an Acting Apprentice. She has performed locally with Montgomery Theater, Act II Playhouse, Historic Philadelphia Inc., Theater To Go, ActorsNET, and Shakespeare '70 among others. She served as Theater Program Director for Archbishop Wood High School for three years (following two as Acting Coach), and has been directing at Town & Country since 2014. As an actor, her favorite roles include Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Barbara in Major Barbara, and Marian in The Music Man.

Michael Hollinger is the author of more than a dozen full-length plays, four of which will be mounted in the Philadelphia area during the 2017-2018 season: the world premieres of TouchTones (co-authored with composer Robert Maggio) and Sing the Body Electric at Arden Theatre Company and Theatre Exile, respectively; the Philadelphia premiere of Hope and Gravity at 1812 Productions; and a revival of Red Herring at Act II Playhouse. His plays have enjoyed productions around the country, in New York City, London, Paris, Tokyo, Athens, and elsewhere in Europe. Awards include a Steinberg New Play Citation from the American Theatre Critics Association, a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, a Mid-Atlantic Emmy, an Edgerton Foundation New American Plays Award, four Barrymore Awards (including the F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Theatre Artist), nominations for Lucille Lortel and John Gassner awards, and fellowships from the Independence Foundation, Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Michael was Literary Manager/Dramaturg of both the Wilma Theater and Philadelphia Festival Theatre for New Plays in the 1990s, assisting in the development and/or production of dozens of new plays. Currently, he is a Professor of Theatre at Villanova University, where he also serves as Artistic Director of Villanova Theatre. |
