THE LIMELIGHT

Issue No. 3 April 2005

Our most recent membership meeting was a very entertaining and enjoyable event. This meeting was sponsored by LAD Enterprises (aka Lynne Anne Donchez). There was plenty of wine from our new supplier, the Chaddsford Winery; brownies, muffins, candies, cheese, fruit, coffee, tea, and soda! We had at least 50 people attending this one!

Included on our list of attendees were a Mr. and Mrs. Fleck. They have been Patron ticket holders for 30 years! Mr. and Mrs. Milton Rutherford also came to share our company while we enjoyed the wonderful slideshow Scott Connard put together of their classic pictures from T&C seasons past. The slide show also included some of our more recent productions, and there were even pictures of our new soundboard and lighting board.

The freshly painted (Thank you, Kim Weidman!) clubroom is becoming more comfortable every season. It has a wonderful warm feel to it now. Carol Longwell has generously donated a beautiful hutch along with matching table and chairs.

A brief summary of the reports from the various Board Members is as follows:

Dave Keller - Treasurer

Dave Reported the Operating Fund has about $9,000. The Building Fund has approximately $12,000 before deducting the new sound and lighting equipment. We have received $12,000 in advance ticket sales. We have 60 patrons, and 102 season ticket holders.

Dan Weidman - Building and Grounds

The heater, which you may recall gave us several very bad moments last season, (including one dress rehearsal where the theatergoers actually brought blankets) has been repaired. It even runs quieter now. Thank you to Dave Riffert for donating his time and working on this for us!!

The ivy has come down off the walls, and we will be getting more driveway stone for the low lying spots in the front.

Dan wanted to be sure and thank George and Pat Achilles for providing Boy Scouts from Troop 24 to help clean up the theater. They did a terrific job.

There was a LOT of hard work put into our building this off-season.

For great efforts done on the Dressing Rooms and Makeup Room, a HUGE thank you goes to Lynne Anne Donchez, Nancy Lee, Andy O'Neill, Vincenzo Russo, Lynn Scheich, Dave Sharper, and Jim Wolfe. Thank you Susan Burnham for donating the carpeting!!!

Thank you to Joannie Goelz and Patti Kirkwood for all their efforts in cleaning up the kitchen and washing all those dishes!!!! It looks beautiful!

Thank you Dave Keller for donating badly needed grass seed!

Susan Burnham - Benefits

We have 8 benefits booked for the season so far. Please, tell your office, tell your friends, tell your charities! This is a terrific way for them to make money for their cause!

Keith Soester - Adult Producer

Keith, Scott Fishman and Dave Keller have prepared the 2005 season budget. While funds have been dedicated for each individual show, the budget was designed to allow some flexibility of allocation as needed, across productions.

As the Director of City of Angels, Keith let us all know the show is very complicated to put on, but is going to be great. There are many new and talented actors. If you are interested in helping with crew or a minor role, contact Keith directly (and immediately - show opens this week) by email at: aplus4410@comcast.net or by telephone 215 659-4410.

Scott Connard - Membership

Scott let us know we had 49 paid members, and would like to remind us to PLEASE SIGN UP TO PARK AND USHER!

Jenny Hopkins - Hospitality

Jenny informed one and all that we are currently stocked up for the beginning of our season. Please let her know if you catch supplies running low and she will restock. She can be reached by phone: 215 822-0214 or Email: Flipper123159@aol.com. Also, she reminded everyone that the soda and cookies are stocked to provide refreshments to theatergoers during intermission, and should not be consumed by cast and crew during rehearsals.

With the Board Reports done, Pat Ellis and Frank McCrea put on a wonderful reading from "You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water is Running". We were all laughing so hard at the great lines and stellar performance...Great job you two!
